There are a variety of life changes and circumstances that can lead to financial woes for anyone. Nationally, the most common reasons cited for bankruptcy and home foreclosure filings have been divorce, medical bills and unemployment. For one Florida resident who is nationally known as a judge on television’s “X Factor,” home foreclosure filings against her Florida home seem to coincide with her custody battle.

The “X Factor” judge has a home in Miami, Florida. She is allegedly behind in payments that stem from maintenance fees that were to be paid at a rate of $1617.36 a month. She is said to be $30,000 in arrears. Reports indicate she earns $1.5 million for her role as a judge on the television reality show.

The homeowner association in her building claims to have tried to reach her and she has not sent a check for the fees since April 2012. The group has pursued motions for home foreclosure. The star bought the place in 1994 for $410,000. The home is 2,000 square feet.

The home foreclosure process in Florida can take some time. This case highlights the fact that anyone in any income bracket can be affected by home foreclosure. Anyone who finds their life circumstances have led to their home being vulnerable to home foreclosure may benefit from knowing their options. The complex process of home foreclosure can be difficult to understand and navigate; therefore, having a full grasp of the latest regulations and how it may apply to individual homeowners can be helpful.
